Trash and Recycling Collection Update

Out of concern for the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and other motorists, we will have a delayed start on Friday, February 4th.

Because of the delayed start, recycling services will be suspended to allow our crews time to complete all trash routes. Recycling services will roll to Friday, February 11th. Services will be provided later than usual, however, please ensure trash is ready for collection by 7:00 a.m.

Holiday Tips

With excess volume being produced this time of year, we encourage residents to minimize their waste in the following ways:

  • Heavy Trash: Please minimize heavy trash when possible, especially between 12/28 and 1/8.
  • Cardboard: Please flatten boxes to expedite collection and minimize space.
  • Yard Waste: Please mulch grass and leaves when possible. Leaves are one of the best natural fertilizers and mulches you can place in your garden.
  • Recyclables: Recycle as much as possible, including all of your paper, gift wrap, cardboard, gift boxes, waxboard containers, glass bottles and jars, metal cans and containers, and rigid plastics.
  • Place excess recycle in containers clearly labeled recycle, paper bag, or boxes.
  • Clearly separate your trash from recycle to avoid confusion between crews.

Cypress Forest PUD – Water, Trash and Recycle Service Update

The region continues to have a water supply shortage as well as pressure issues. There has been damage to the system that provides Regional Water Authority (RWA) surface water to our district and the region. Our district is now using only well water and is operating at a low, but acceptable pressure. It is very important that everyone conserve and minimize their water usage. Please shut off the water at the supply line valve if you have a water line break in your home or with the irrigation system. A boil water notice has not been issued for our district. Our service provider EDP is working diligently on this issue. If there are emergency water supply issues that need to be addressed, EDP can be contacted at (832) 467 1599 or at customerservice@edpwater.com.

Texas Pride Disposal has many crew members that are dealing with home pipe damage issues, but plans on providing limited service on Friday. There will be no recycling service, but they plan to provide regular backdoor trash service.

Holiday Schedule for Trash, Waste, and Recycling Collection Services

Please note: during each of the holiday weeks, there will be only one collection day for household trash, green yard waste, and bulk waste: Tuesday, December 22nd and Tuesday, December 29th. No recycling will be collected on these dates.

Texas Pride observes two (2) holidays each year. Following is the upcoming holiday schedule:

  • Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2020; and
  • New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1, 2021.

No household trash, bulk waste, green yard waste, or recycling will be collected on the holidays.

Please remember to always keep the curbsides free of all green yard waste and bulk waste on days that are not scheduled collection days. Thank you!
