With new neighbors we're asked about our trash
and recycle program. For information about
our trash program please refer to the website,
which will answer your questions. Our
service is back door for household waste on
Tuesdays and Fridays. Our heavy day pickup
is Friday, but please check the website for what
is considered heavy.
As for the recycling, the program is voluntary.
It's not necessary to do it weekly, but as we
mentioned before, recycling certainly adds value
to our community. Our contract offers
better and cleaner equipment, more convenience
and lower pricing, since we save on landfill
fees, distances and demand. Today our
recycle carts are larger and wheeled for your
convenience. They are lidded to keep down
the mess from the elements. Additionally,
disregard the incorrect message on the bright
yellow lid about curbside, our program is
back door and visible from the
street. The carts are returned to where you put
them. If you have any questions or want to
sign up, check our website,
click trash collection, when opened, click
recycle PDF. Recycling saves.
Although our area is subject to a hurricane
anytime during the hurricane season, long term
residents associate September as the month that
brings the scariest. As a reminder, keep your
storm drains clear to allow the possible high
water to flow, always be aware what you pour
down your drains and clean out your gutters.
For your information in our September meeting
held the first Tuesday the key agenda item for
the Cypress Forest PUD is our annual budget.
Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day.
